West Ham club ‘most interested’ in signing Barcelona ace – report
West Ham are club most interested in signing Barcelona goalkeeper Neto from a report by Mundo Deportivo (print edition, May 24, page 9).
Calcio Mercato reported a few days ago that the Hammers are keen to bring the 31-year-old Barca stopper to the London stadium this summer.
David Moyes will undoubtedly be looking for a new goalkeeper with Lukasz Fabianski and Darren Randolph now 36 and 34 respectively.
The internationals from Poland and the Republic of Ireland are far from being the same players as they once were.
West Ham in pursuit of Neto
Mundo Deportivo (print edition, May 24, page 9) claim the Hammers are showing the greatest interest in signing the Brazilian.
He also suggested that David Moyes should only pay € 12million (£ 10.5million) for the 31-year-old goalkeeper.
Neto would be a decent and reasonably priced option for West Ham.
Neto is very good with his feet and has a great cast. He is not, however, the most aerial goalkeeper.
And that will undoubtedly be something David Moyes will have to weigh before he takes him to East London.
Better options for hammers?
Neto wouldn’t be a bad signing for West Ham at all.
It must be said, however, that the East London club would surely be better served to sign a youth cap. Someone like Sam Johnstone or Alphonse Areola would be our choice.
That said, the Barcelona stopper would still be a satisfying signing for the Hammers.
