Uber announced a new partnership with Smart & Final Stores, a California-based food warehouse store for households and businesses, to expand its on-demand and scheduled grocery delivery to West Coast customers.
Thanks to the new agreement, 173 Smart & Final stores across Arizona, California and Nevada are available to purchase through Uber and Uber Eats, with plans to integrate all 254 Smart & Final locations. Smart & Final is the first major U.S. food partner to offer alcohol to customers through Uber Eats. The alcohol is now available for delivery in California and plans to expand the offer to Arizona and Nevada later this year.
“Grocery continues to be a rapid growth area for us this year with millions of consumers ordering groceries and other essentials through Uber every month,” said Grocery Manager Oskar Hjertonsson. at Uber.
Since its launch in July 2020, Uber has seen consistent growth in the United States for its grocery category. In the United States and around the world, Uber says it is poised to meet consumers’ growing desire to get what they need from grocery stores and other on-demand merchants in hours or even minutes, rather than in a few days.
