Tammy Abraham Transfer News: West Ham want to sign Chelsea striker on loan
What’s the next step for Abraham?
Abraham has also been discussed as a possible target at Aston Villa, Leicester City and Newcastle.
However, Chelsea’s asking price of £ 40million has put him out of reach of all of those clubs.
West Ham are hopeful that neither club will be ready to match the price Chelsea are asking for, increasing their chances of signing a loan deal with the 23-year-old.
What did Moyes say?
Moyes is keen to strengthen his squad this summer but said last week the club would not be able to afford to buy Abraham for £ 40million.
“It would shut us out completely,” Moyes told reporters when asked about Abraham’s high value.
“We will be excluded. So if that’s the number and that’s what it says, we’re left out.
“We don’t have that money, we don’t have that to buy a striker at this price, no.
“I don’t think we’ll make this a one-player buy. I would be surprised if we were.
How did Abraham do this season?
Abraham has scored 12 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea this season, but an ankle injury has limited his first-team appearances in recent months.
The 23-year-old also struggled to be a regular in the starting XI as new hires Timo Werner and Kai Havertz were preferred to lead the line under manager Thomas Tuchel.
