Swindon Public Notices: Roadworks, planning and liquor license applications this week

Swindon City Council has given notice under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the following temporary traffic orders.

WROUGHTON

This order is being introduced to allow work on section 278 of the motorway and will prohibit vehicles from driving on the B4005 Hodson road at the junction with Brimble Hill. Traffic will be diverted via Brimble Hill, Marlborough Road, Moormead Road, Swindon Road, Croft Road, Pipers Way, Marlborough Road, Common Head Roundabout, A419, A4259/B4192.

Traffic will join the A419 from the A4259/B4192 junction to M4 J15, A346 J15 Roundabout, Marlborough Road, New Road.

The order will be in place from 15 September for a period of six months, but it is expected that the road closure will be required between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on 15/16 September 2022.

This order is introduced to allow SSEN to install a new connection and will prohibit vehicles from driving on Hackpen Lane outside Overtown Farm. Traffic will be diverted via Hackpen Lane, B4005 Brimble Hill, Marlborough Road, Devizes Road, High Street, Church Hill, A4361 (Broad Hinton Road), Free’s Aveue and Hackpen Lane. The order will come into effect on September 19, 2022 for six months but the road closure is scheduled to take place from September 19 to 23, 2022.

CROMBEY STREET

This ordinance is being introduced to allow for works to improve the pedestrian lane and will prohibit pedestrians from continuing on the pedestrian lane and vehicles from parking on Crombey Street between Eastcott Hill and Curtis Street.

The decree must be in force from September 12, 2022 for a period of six months but it is expected that the works will take place from September 12 to 23, 2022.

EMLYN SQUARE, RAILWAY VILLAGE

This order is being brought in to allow work for a road crossing project and will prohibit vehicles from continuing onto Emlyn Square and parking in the bays in Emlyn Square outside the Cricketer pub and Bristol Street as directed by Signs. Traffic should be diverted via the bus gate onto Bristol Street where two-way traffic lights are to be installed. The decree will be in force on August 30, 2022 for a period of six months but it is expected that the works will take place on August 30/31, 2022 only.

FLEMISH WAY

This order is being introduced to allow work on the Fleming Way Bus Boulevard Scheme and will prohibit vehicles from traveling on Fleming Way between Whalebridge Junction and Milford Street.

Traffic will be diverted via Corporation Street, Manchester Road, Milford Street, Holbrook Way. The decree will enter into force on September 4, 2022 for a period of 18 months.

OLD CITY

This order is introduced to allow Thames Water Works and will prohibit vehicles from continuing onto Old Mill Lane to the junction of The Weavers at the rear of No’s 14 to 24 Mill Court. Access to maintain. The order will come into effect on September 19, 2022 for a period of six months but it is expected that the road closure will take place between September 19 and 21, 2022 only.

ALBERT STREET

This order is introduced to allow SSEN to install a new connection and will prohibit vehicles from driving on Albert Street. Traffic will be diverted via Little London and Church Road. The order will come into effect on September 12, 2022 for a period of six months but the road closure is expected to take place from September 12 to 16, 2022.

CHISELDON

Wales and West Utilities are to carry out mains replacement work and will prohibit vehicles from continuing onto the High Street junction with Butts Road outside No 14. Traffic will be diverted via High Street, Station Road, Marlborough Road, Butts Road and vice versa Order to come into force on August 26, 2022 for a period of six months, but the road closure is expected to take place between August 26 and October 3, 2022.

SOUTH MARSTON

This order is being introduced to allow Openreach to carry out fiber optic overhead wiring work and will prohibit vehicles from driving on Highworth Road between the entrance to the housing estates and Burton Grove Farm.

Traffic will be diverted via Highworth Road, Thornhill Road, A420, White Hart, Ermin Street, Swindon Road, Hobley Drive, B4006 Highworth Road, A361 Highworth Road, Supermarine Road and vice versa.

The decree will enter into force on September 12, 2022 for a period of six months but it is expected that the works will take place overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on September 12/13, 2022.

CRICKLADE ROAD

An application has been made to the Swindon Licensing Authority for a premises license from Emmanuel Turay for a new premises license for Kings Bite, 37 Cricklade Road, Swindon, SN2 1AA

The application searches for the following licensed activities and times:

Retail sale of alcohol on site and to take away from Monday to Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
