Report: West Ham misses after intense talks with the club over Boulaye Dia in recent days
West Ham United seem to have missed Boulaye Dia, with the French newspaper Le 10 Sport reportage that they have had intense discussions with Stade de Reims in recent days.
The 24-year-old entered the summer following his best top-flight season yet.
Dia scored 14 goals in Ligue 1. He ended the campaign as the top scorer, finishing 10 ahead of his closest teammate.
Unsurprisingly, many clubs have shown interest. And it looks like he’s headed for Villarreal.
According to Le 10 Sport, Unai Emery’s men are expected to spend £ 10.25million to sign the striker.
However, it was only after that that the Hammers did their best to try to derail that passage for the Europa League winners.
10 Sport report that there have been intense discussions with Irons and Hertha Berlin in recent days. But he is set to sign a five-year contract in Spain.
West Ham must produce something in search of striker after missing Dia
It emerged throughout the summer that West Ham needed a new striker.
Dia isn’t a new name on the Hammers’ radar. He was also linked with a change at London Stadium earlier in the year.
So the Irons may think it’s a real blow to apparently miss. It shouldn’t cost the yellow submarine dearly, it seems.
Fans are hopeful that an exciting target emerges in the coming weeks as David Moyes looks to beef up his attacking options.
