Non-alcoholic for sale at Tattersalls December Sale

Four-time Group 1 winner Alcohol-free will be sold at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale which takes place from 28 November to 28 December. 1, featured in the new Scepter session on the second day of the auction.

The versatile daughter of no no never is owned by Jeff Smith and has won four top level contests: the Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes (G1) at 2, the Coronation Stakes (G1) and Qatar Sussex Stakes (G1) at 3, and the Darley July Cup Stakes (G1) this summer at 4.

The filly trained by Andrew Balding finished third in the brilliant Baaid in his last start in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and is set to bow out on Champions Day at Ascot next month in the QIPCO British Champions Sprint Stakes (G1) or QIPCO sponsored Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (G1).

After her emphatic victory in the July Cup, Smith said of her superstar: “This filly is something else, the way she won is just unbelievable. She’s a champion, there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind.”

Balding said: “She’s a superstar! She’s the only filly I’ve trained to win four Group 1s and the only horse I’ve trained to win Groups 1-2, 3 and 4, which is quite special – and we hope there are more to come.

“She’s not only an exceptional racing filly, she’s also a magnificent person; an imposing and flighty filly who has improved physically and mentally with age. She acts on all types of ground and will become a day a beautiful broodmare.”

Bred by Churchtown House Stud and purchased for €40,000 (US$45,820) by Smith’s Littleton Stud at Goffs November Foal Sale in 2018, Alcohol Free is out of the third generation of Coolmore’s red sire, No Nay Never .

She is the fourth foal of the winner hard spun mare Plying and a half-sister of the French Listed winner alexander james . The couple’s half-sister by Gleneagles will be offered as Lot 136 in Book 1 of Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Jossestown Farm.
