Juddmonte’s 2019 Hampton Court Stakes winner Sangarius was taken out of the races and purchased to be a stallion by Haras Santa Rita da Serra, the breeders of recent Brazilian Group 1 winner Jackson Pollock and heroine of the Triple Crown Janelle Monae.
Kingman’s son was a high-class performer for the late Prince Khalid Abdullah’s operation, winning the Flying Scotsman Stakes and finishing fourth at the Dewhurst two years before his impressive Royal Ascot success the following year for Sir Michael Stoute.
Sangarius, who has won four of his ten starts in total, was bought under a deal brokered by Felipe Lopes.
Lopes, who recently started his own agency Lopes Bloodstock and has been working for Juddmonte for over nine years, said: “The buyer was looking for a horse with a very good pedigree like Sangarius, which comes from Hasili’s family and also looks like much to his father. “

Sangarius, who also won the Listed Quebec Stakes in December and finished second in the Huxley and Brigadier Gerard Stakes this season, is the type of horse that has always won over the South American market, according to Lopes.
He added: “He has a lot of speed, like Kingman, which is very important for Brazilian racing. The buyer loves Kingman and the horse is a beautiful model – measuring 16.1 hands, he is the perfect size for the race. Brazil.
“He started his quarantine on Friday and will be flying over August 29 with Outstrip.”
Half-brother to the winner Frankel Hydros and the filly Oasis Dream, ranked 3rd in the Group, Emergent, the 5-year-old will be Kingman’s first son to come to Brazil.
Sangarius is one of 19 Individual Group winners for the resident of Banstead Manor Stud and is a half-sister to Prize winner Jean Romanet Romantica at Trojan Queen.
Trojan Queen, by Empire Maker, is the offspring of several high profile winners Banks Hill, a daughter of Danehill and the phenomenal blue hen Hasili and can count Dansili, Cacique, Champs Elysées and Intercontinental among her own siblings, as well as Heat Haze and Deluxe as half-siblings.
