Grandma Grantham publishes first children’s book available on Amazon
A Grantham woman published her first children’s book on The Adventures of Two Donkeys.
Ann Corner, 64, wrote and published her first children’s storybook, inspired by her love of donkeys by the sea as a child.
The book, titled Donald and Daisy, is aimed at elementary school age children and follows the story of two seaside donkeys named Donald and Daisy who spend their summers taking children for rides on the beach by the sea.
When the season is over, they will stay at Sunny Down Farm for the winter.
A description of the book read, “Susan and Michael live at Sunny Down Farm with their mom and dad, and they’re always excited when the donkeys come to stay there.”
“One day little Donald decided he wanted a fling and slipped out of the gate. But, the adventure ended up being a little scarier than he expected!
Ann’s partner paid to have the book published independently, and she is “very happy” with the way the book looks.
Ann said: “I’ve been thinking about doing it for a few years. I’ve had it in the draw for the past two years thinking, should I, shouldn’t I, and I just did.
“I am very proud of it. I’ve never written a book before in my life, but I have quite a few grandchildren and just thought I would like to do something for them.
“When you go to the seaside you kids are always on the donkeys and they love it, don’t they.
According to Ann, her grandchildren are “big fans of their nanny,” as are, of course, fans of Donald and Daisy.
