Paul, affectionately known to most as “Coach,” was born December 29, 1945 in Dalton, Georgia. He received his undergraduate degree and played baseball at Reinhardt College. He then obtained his Masters of Education from West Georgia College (University of West Georgia). He was employed by Dalton Public Schools and retired after more than 30 years of teaching with a heart full of love and memories of his students and athletes. He liked to be a “coach”. He loved fishing and owned Coach custom rods. In retirement, he also taught Sunday School at Trinity United Methodist Church and volunteered for the Whitfield County Miracle League. He loved his wife and family and looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed.
With his wishes not to make a big ‘fuss’, Coach Bagby will be remembered at home in private with his family.
In lieu of flowers, commemorations can be made at a charity of your choice or at Camp ASCCA, PO Box 21, Jacksons Gap, AL 36861 or www.campascca.org, where these tax-deductible donations will be used for their fishing program for children and adults with disabilities.
